About Yelp
So you’ve been to our Yelp page and saw we have great reviews, that is awesome! But when we opened the shop, after the first two months we got a call from a Yelp representative basically asking us for $350 a month which we could not afford at the time. The next day or so ALL of the shop’s reviews were “filtered” as “fake”…. meaning our page was showing we had NO REVIEWS visible whatsoever.
Since quite a few of our filtered reviews seem to come from regular “Yelpers”, we spoke with a representative of Yelp who was kind of scratching her head as to why they were filtered as well. She went on to say that if WE PAID A MINIMUM OF $350 A MONTH that she is sure someone at Yelp would do something to make those reviews visible. We politely said “thank you” and ended the conversation.
We did some further research and found we weren’t the only ones. We know a lot of people follow Yelp like the bible and it is a very successful business, however there are current legal loopholes that allow them to continue operating their business in such a manner.
Since we have been spreading the message of what is happening and quite frankly not answering Yelp when they call for money, our reviews have slowly re-appeared. However they do keep it to the number of 12 reviews, meaning that once someone leaves a review, another is “filtered”. Really?! Yes really.
We feel very strongly about this and urge you the client that if you would like to leave a review of us please use Google + or City Search instead to send a message that businesses should get their positive reviews “visible” based off of actual merit.
So feel free to leave us a review with these following venues:
